These garter springs are lighter than the originals and allow the transmission to engage at lower rpm of around 1800. This makes the take-off smoother and is particularly useful for riders that do a lot of stop/start riding, or who prefer to ride at lower speeds.
The standard springs engage at around 2200rpm.
