That's worth saying upfront.
The standard FC-212 is already a complete, rideable off-road mini bike. Our packages exist for people who already know they want to take the bike in a particular direction: performance tinkering, fishing or more heavily equipped exploring.
So which one actually makes sense for you?
Start here: the Base FatCat FC-212
If you're new to FatCats, unsure what terrain you'll ride most or simply want the bike without a pile of extras, start with the standard FC-212.
You get the core FatCat platform: 212cc four-stroke engine, automatic CVT, hydraulic disc brakes, fat tyres and the bike in its standard configuration.
Best for: first-time FatCat buyers, general recreational riding and anyone who would rather add accessories later once they know what they actually want.
The Fast FatCat: for the tinkerer
Despite the name, the Fast FatCat package is not a magic bolt-on 'make it fast' kit.
It's a foundation for riders interested in building and tuning a more performance-focused FatCat.
The current Fast FatCat package includes performance-oriented components such as the carby adapter kit, Magnum clutch, FatCat performance exhaust, spare CVT belt, 72-tooth sprocket, premium chain, tacho/hour meter and fork boots.
Some components require additional parts, tuning or mechanical knowledge. For example, the current package notes that the Mikuni TM24 carburettor itself is not included with the adapter kit and that appropriate carburettor tuning is important when changing intake/exhaust setup.
Best for: mechanically confident riders who actually enjoy modifying and tuning their bike.
Probably not for: someone who just wants to unpack a standard bike and ride it.
Reel 'n' Ride: for fishing missions
This one has a very specific job.
The Reel 'n' Ride package is built around carrying fishing gear and making the FatCat more useful for suitable off-road access to fishing spots.
The current package includes fishing graphics, CVT garter springs, fishing rod holder, 72-tooth sprocket, upgraded chain, oversized kickstand foot and rear rack extension.
The rear rack extension has a current stated load rating of 10kg and gives you extra tie-down points for gear.
Best for: anglers who genuinely want the rod holder, carrying capacity and lower-geared setup rather than adding fishing accessories one by one.
Extreme Explorers: for rougher, gear-heavy adventures
The Extreme Explorers package is the more adventure-focused bundle.
It combines the FC-212 with chunkier tyre options and protection/carrying accessories aimed at riders expecting more varied off-road conditions. Our tyre guide explains the chunkier tyre options.
The current package includes front and rear chunky tyres (your choice of A-003, A-051 or Steer), a camo graphics sticker kit, rock/splash guard, garter springs, fork boots, rear rack extension, a 5L jerry can, a set of ring spanners, a camo tool bag and a phone holder case.
Best for: riders who already know they want chunkier tyres, extra protection and carrying capacity for more involved off-road use.

Do the package accessories arrive fitted?
No.
FatCats are securely packed and crated for freight, so package accessories are supplied separately for you to install.
That matters when you're choosing a package. You're buying a curated group of compatible parts, not a fully custom-built bike that arrives with every accessory already installed.
Check the individual package page for current installation requirements and get help from a suitably experienced mechanic if a modification is beyond your comfort level.
Is a package cheaper than building it yourself?
Packages are intended to bundle the bike and relevant accessories together, but pricing and inclusions can change.
Rather than relying on an old blog price, compare the current package price with the current individual products when you're ready to order.
The bigger question is whether you actually want the included parts. A bundle isn't a saving if half of it sits unopened in the shed.
Which one would we choose?
If you don't already know, start with the Base FC-212.
That's not us underselling you. It's the sensible option.
Ride it. Learn what you like. Work out where you use it. Then change the tyres, gearing, carrying setup or performance components because you have a reason to.
